Birmingham Community Charter High School

Lake Balboa (Van Nuys)Birmingham Patriots, West Valley League (CIF LA City Section)
22 mi· ~30 minfrom Valencia High School (est.)

Directions from Valencia High School

22 miles , about 30 minutes (estimate, pending a measured drive).

Drive time: about 30 minutes in normal traffic; longer at rush hour.

Route: I-5 south to CA-118 (Ronald Reagan) west to I-405 south, into the west San Fernando Valley; the main lot is off Haynes St.

Parking

Two lots, both a short walk. The main school lot is off Haynes St and is the shorter walk. You can also turn right on the way in to a second lot, unmistakable for its dumpsters, behind right-center field; from there walk straight in, turn left through two usually-open gates, and the baseball field is on your right with a large soccer field on your left.

Seating & Chairs

A large grandstand sits behind home plate, the best and cleanest view in the park. Right in front of the grandstand is an area for your own chairs. There are additional stadium-seating benches on the first-base and third-base sides, but their views are obstructed by the dugout.

What to bring: Bring stadium chairs for the grandstand behind home plate; portable folding chairs work in the area just in front of it.

Shade & Sun

Very little. On a sunny day, bring umbrellas. Two big trees behind home plate only start to help later in the day, once the overhead sun moves.

Visibility

Sit behind home plate for the clean view. From the visitor (first-base) side you can see home plate but it is very difficult to see first base and right field; the home (third-base) side mirrors that, hard to see third base and left field.

Restrooms

Full, permanent school restrooms just outside right field, typically open. No portables.

Concessions

Not confirmed.

Cell Signal

Strong, 5 bars (Google Fi / T-Mobile). No streaming concerns.

The Field

All grass, and in good shape.

Dimensions: 330 down both lines, 360 to left-center, 390 to right-center.
