The JV made it two wins in two fall games on Saturday afternoon in Encino, scoring in seven of eight innings for a 22-6 win.
It started fast. Kasen Caranto walked and stole second, Ryan Kim doubled him home, then stole home himself, and Elijah Patlian doubled in Elijah Avlas for a 3-0 lead. Four more came in the second on singles by Caden Shin, Brody Kersting, and Kim, a bases-loaded walk to Caranto, and Avlas's sacrifice fly.
Crespi got six back in the fourth, but Valencia answered with five in the sixth (Avlas tripled in a run and Miles Shelofsky doubled in another), three in the seventh, and five in the eighth, when Jayden Soulema doubled, Caranto singled, and Cooper Rzewuski singled in the last run.
Caranto reached base all six times he came up, with three hits, two walks, and an error, and scored five runs. Avlas drove in five, Patlian had three hits, Shelofsky doubled twice, and Kim drove in three. On the mound, Shelofsky, Avlas, Jackson Lord, and Rzewuski each struck out two, and Lord, Ben Winger, Brody Kersting, and Rzewuski held Crespi scoreless over the last four innings.
