Valencia's second game of the fall took it to West Hills on Saturday morning, and Chaminade jumped on top early, scoring four in the first and two more in the second.

The Vikings broke through in the fifth. JT Gurne reached on an error and moved to second, and Hayden Jaquez lined a single to left to bring him home. Santino Cascione had Valencia's only two hits through four innings, singling in the first and again in the fourth.

The defense had its moments. Caden Cabunoc and Jaquez teamed up to cut down a runner trying for home to end the third, Tyler Lord threw out a runner stealing second, and Charles Goodman and JT Gurne each struck out two in scoreless innings.

Chaminade's three home runs in the sixth put the game away. In the seventh, Cole DeYoung singled, stole second, and scored on Bodie Johnson's single up the middle, his first varsity hit and RBI. Next up is Crespi on the road.
