In a back-and-forth summer slugfest, Valencia spotted Granada Hills a three-run first and roared right back, scoring four in the bottom half and four more in the second to take control of an 11-7 win on 14 hits.
The turning point came fast. After Granada strung together a double, walks, and singles for three in the top of the first, the Vikings answered: Aiden Illingworth and Evan Conrad reached, and Casey Nickson launched a three-run homer to left to tie it, before Tyler Lord's bases-loaded hit-by-pitch nudged Valencia ahead. The second was more of the same, four runs on RBI hits from Kasen Caranto, Illingworth, Conrad, and Ryan Nguyen for an 8-3 cushion.
From there the Vikings answered every Granada push. Evan Conrad finished 3-for-3, Caranto went 2-for-2 with two RBI and three steals, and Jaedyn Morales added a double and two runs. Granada's #29 did his best to keep it close with a double and a two-run homer, but Valencia's lead never shrank to one score.
Tennysen Enneking started and earned the win, and Miles Shelofsky and Nate Marroquin handled the rest as the game reached the 5:00 PM time limit with Valencia still batting in the seventh. A loose game in the field for both sides, but the Vikings' bats more than made up for it.
