A four-run second inning was all Valencia needed to handle Camarillo 5-2 at home for its third win in four games.

Camarillo nicked the Vikings for a run in the first, but Valencia seized control in the bottom of the second. Luke Ammerman did the early damage from the eight-hole, lacing an RBI double that scored two, Hayden Jaquez followed with an RBI single, and Tyler Lord added a sacrifice fly to make it 4-1.

Six different Vikings collected a hit and the lineup kept the pressure on, manufacturing an insurance run in the seventh. Evan Conrad reached base twice atop the order with a double and a hit-by-pitch and swiped a bag, Hayden Jaquez reached twice and scored, and Ammerman's two-RBI day from the bottom of the order set the tone.

The pitching made the early cushion stand up. Jordan Ramos started strong with two innings and three strikeouts, and Tee Intharachalit was outstanding in long relief, scattering one hit over three innings while striking out two to lock down the win.

Camarillo managed just four hits and never seriously threatened after the big second, and the Vikings improved to 3-1 on the summer.
