Brady Ruffner ended it in the seventh, driving a walk-off double to left field to score JT Gurne and send Valencia past El Camino Real 5-4 for the Vikings' first win of the summer.

It was a back-and-forth afternoon in which Valencia answered every El Camino punch. The visitors drew first blood with a two-run home run in the third, but the Vikings tied it in the bottom half: Santino Cascione singled, Casey Nickson lifted a sacrifice fly, and Luke Ammerman singled home Brady Ruffner.

Valencia grabbed its first lead in the fifth. Tyler Lord, hit by a pitch, came around on Hayden Jaquez's RBI double to center, and Jaquez scored on a wild pitch for a 4-2 edge.

El Camino tied it again with a two-run single in the sixth, setting up the seventh-inning drama. JT Gurne led off with a single, stole second, and raced home on Ruffner's double down the line to end it.

Gurne set the table all day, going 2-for-3 with a stolen base and scoring the winner, and Hayden Jaquez was a perfect 1-for-1 with a double, an RBI, and a run. Brady Ruffner, Santino Cascione, and Luke Ammerman each added a hit, and the Vikings manufactured runs despite being held to seven hits, cashing in five hit-by-pitches and two El Camino errors.

The staff and defense made it stand up. Jordan Ramos opened with two scoreless innings, Tee Intharachalit struck out three over 2.1 innings, and Brady Ruffner slammed the door with a 1-2-3 inning to earn the win to go with his walk-off hit. Valencia turned two double plays and played errorless defense, the kind of clean, resilient baseball that wins one-run games.
