Valencia's JV closed its spring schedule against Maranatha and had the game even at 2-2 through five innings before a five-run sixth sent the Minutemen home 7-2 winners.

Jaedyn Morales gave the Vikings a strong start, four strikeouts over three innings with the only damage a solo homer by Maranatha's #31 in the second. Down 2-0 in the fifth, Valencia answered with three straight singles from Braden Cianci, Tyler Lord, and Alex Bramson; Cianci scored on a wild pitch and Miles Shelofsky's sacrifice fly tied it.

The sixth undid it. Maranatha strung together small ball and big hits, a bunt single, Moses Alvarez's two-run double, two hit-by-pitches, and four singles, and five runs scored before the defense ended the inning with a left-field-to-third-to-home relay that cut down a runner at the plate.

The defense kept fighting to the end: Lord picked Samuel Byrnes off third in the second, and Gavin Tergo threw him out stealing home in the seventh after his triple. Valencia loaded the bases with two outs in the last of the seventh on an error and two walks, but a groundout finished it.
