Valencia's JV took an early lead in Burbank, but Burroughs never stopped running: the Bears stole fourteen bases, scored in five of their six turns at bat, and held off a seventh-inning push to win 7-4.

The second inning was Valencia's best. Hayden Jaquez singled and scored on the second of two Burroughs errors, Tyler Lord's sacrifice fly made it 2-1, and Bodie Johnson came home on a passed ball for a 3-1 lead. From there the offense kept working, eight walks in all, but managed just five hits.

The defense answered Burroughs' aggression all afternoon, cutting down five runners on the bases. Kai Wilson was tagged out at the plate to end the first, Connor Cox was caught stealing in the fourth and picked off third in the sixth, and Braden Cianci started the play that nailed Koah Johnson at home in the fifth. Cianci also struck out five over three innings, and all three runs of Burroughs' third were unearned after an error extended the inning.

The seventh made it interesting: walks to Casey Nickson and Aiden Illingworth and a Jaquez single loaded the bases, and Jaedyn Morales's double brought Nickson home before Burroughs cut down Illingworth at the plate. Koah Johnson went 3-for-3 for the Bears, who used seven pitchers for one inning apiece.
