Valencia overwhelmed Foothill League foe Golden Valley 16-0, riding a 16-hit attack, five RBI from Evan Conrad, and 11 strikeouts in five innings from Dexton Otton.

Otton was untouchable, allowing one hit and striking out 11 of the 20 batters he faced over five innings; Andrew Gomez and Brett Cormany finished the two-hit shutout. Golden Valley never advanced a runner past second base.

The Vikings broke it open with a six-run fourth, capped by Conrad's three-run homer, after building a 3-0 lead on Tyler Wertz's two-run single in the second. Conrad added a two-run double in the fifth, and Valencia tacked on five in the seventh.

Wertz went 3-for-4 with two RBI, Conrad finished 2-for-4 with the homer, a double, and five RBI, and Kade Breech doubled and drove in two. Eight different Vikings scored and the lineup drew eight walks.
