Valencia's JV opened the West Ranch series with a combined two-hit shutout, Caden Cabunoc working six scoreless innings for the win and Ben Winger closing the seventh on nine pitches in a 7-0 league road victory.

The game broke open in the second: Hayden Jaquez walked, Aiden Illingworth and Miles Shelofsky singled to load the bases, Casey Nickson cleared them with a triple to center, and Luke Ammerman's double made it 4-0.

Braden Cianci walked, stole second, and came around on Illingworth's single in a two-run fifth capped by Shelofsky's sacrifice fly, and Shelofsky's RBI single added a seventh run. Nickson finished 3-for-5 with a single, double, and triple.

Cabunoc worked around four walks with a pickoff and a parade of ground balls, eight putouts landing at Cianci's first base, and the defense turned fielder's-choice forces in three different innings. Mikey Cintra made his first appearance of the season, finishing behind the plate.
