Valencia clawed all the way back from an early five-run hole, only to see a late St. Francis rally decide it. The Vikings fell 8-6 on the road, scoring four in the fourth to take the lead before the Golden Knights pushed across three in the sixth.

Down 5-2, Valencia erupted in the fourth. Kyle Josing led off with a home run, Dylan Lapa doubled home Kade Breech, and Tyler Wertz capped the rally with a two-run single that scored Cole DeYoung and Lapa, flipping it to a 6-5 Valencia lead. Lapa finished 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI, and Breech and Carter Bennett each had two hits.

St. Francis answered in the sixth. Lucas Becerra and Danny Izaguirre singled, and the Knights cashed in on a sacrifice fly, a balk, and an error to take an 8-6 lead. Becerra was the catalyst all day, homering in the first and driving in three.

Valencia threatened in the seventh, putting two aboard on a Justin Gaisford single and a Zach Davis walk, but could not bring the tying run around. Tennysen Enneking turned in a scoreless inning of relief, though the early deficit proved one swing too many to overcome.
