The freshmen finished their Castaic Saturday the way they started it, with dominant pitching: Elijah Garcia and Matthew Webb combined on a one-hit shutout in a 4-0 win that completed the doubleheader sweep.

Garcia worked five shutout innings around three walks, striking out four, and the only hit he allowed, a leadoff single in the sixth, came against his final batter. Webb stranded that runner and finished with two hitless frames. The staff got help from Caden Shin, who threw out a runner trying to steal home in the first.

The offense settled it early. Elijah Avlas singled and stole second, Hayden Jaquez singled him in, a Castaic error scored Jaquez, and Kai Larracas's two-out single made it 3-0 before the first inning ended. Jaquez finished 3-for-3, his second multi-hit game of the day, and the fourth run came home in the sixth on Ryan Kim's single after pinch runner Patrick Sloyer's steal.

Between the two ends of the doubleheader, Valencia's pitching allowed one run on four hits across fourteen innings; Garcia's season line now includes a hand in two combined no-hitters and this one-hitter.
