Two days after dropping the first meeting, Valencia traded the lead with Castaic all afternoon and finally seized it for good with a three-run fifth, holding on for a 9-7 win that split the season series.

The game was a seesaw. Tyler Wertz's RBI double and a sacrifice fly built a 2-0 Valencia lead, but Castaic answered with a three-run third and never let the Vikings rest, going back ahead 5-4 in the fourth and 7-6 in the fifth. Valencia kept punching back, getting a two-run home run from Justin Gaisford in the fourth to stay within one.

Down 7-6 in the bottom of the fifth, the Vikings flipped it. Francisco Velazquez Jr. walked, courtesy runner Kyle Josing stole second and came around to tie it when Evan Conrad reached on an error, and back-to-back sacrifice flies by Zach Davis and Wertz pushed across the go-ahead and insurance runs for a 9-7 edge.

Tennysen Enneking slammed the door, throwing 2.1 hitless innings in relief for the win. Wertz finished with three RBI on two doubles and two sacrifice flies, Gaisford homered and drove in two, and Conrad reached three times and scored twice atop the order.
