For the second time in five days Valencia's JV ended a game at the plate: Aiden Illingworth lined a one-out double to center in the bottom of the eighth, scoring Hayden Jaquez for a 5-4 league win over Castaic in the season's first extra-inning game.

Valencia answered Castaic's unearned first-inning run immediately, Casey Nickson doubling and scoring on an error before Jaquez's RBI double, and stretched it to 3-1 on Luke Ammerman's double and a wild pitch. Castaic clawed back against the bullpen: Hunter Reiber's RBI double in the sixth and a two-run seventh, capped by #34's single, put the Coyotes ahead 4-3.

The Vikings tied it with two outs in the seventh, Nickson walking, stealing second, and scoring on Braden Cianci's single, his third hit. In the eighth Cianci pitched around a leadoff walk with the help of a 6-4-3 double play, Jaquez to Jesse Young to Jaedyn Morales, then Jaquez singled and Illingworth delivered.

Caden Cabunoc's five-inning start allowed one unearned run with four strikeouts, and Castaic's #44 went the distance, 7.1 innings and 114 pitches, in a game that took the teams into the eighth at just about an hour of game clock.
