Two days after an 11-2 loss to Saugus, Valencia flipped the script in the rematch, pounding out 13 hits, taking advantage of six Saugus errors, and rolling to a 15-3 win for its first Foothill League victory of the season.

The game was tied 1-1 before Valencia blew it open with a six-run third. Tyler Wertz tripled to start it, Justin Gaisford, Cole DeYoung, Jack Yamamura, and Brady Ruffner all delivered RBI hits, and a two-run error capped the rally. The Vikings kept their foot down, adding single runs in the fourth, two more in the sixth, and a five-spot in the seventh.

Cole DeYoung was the catalyst, 3-for-4 with two doubles, four runs scored, and three RBI from the middle of the order. Jack Yamamura added three hits (a double, two RBI) and Justin Gaisford drove in two. Valencia drew seven walks and was hit by three pitches, making Saugus pay for every miscue.

Steven Genovese cruised, going 6.2 strong innings on the mound with three strikeouts, and Tennysen Enneking recorded the final out. A complete, all-around answer to the earlier loss, and a get-right win in league play.
