A third straight Foothill League game brought a third straight rough result: rival Saugus broke a scoreless game open with five-run innings in the third and fourth and rolled to an 11-2 win at Valencia.

Dexton Otton was sharp early, sitting in the upper 80s and topping 90 while striking out four through two perfect innings, but the third unraveled, a hit-by-pitch, an RBI single, and three Valencia errors turned into a five-spot. Saugus added five more in the fourth on Abraham Ramirez's two-run double and Logan Feldman's two-run single.

Charlie Romanelli steadied things with 3.1 innings of one-run relief and four strikeouts, and the staff actually struck out 10 Saugus hitters on the day. But the Vikings managed just four hits against Gavin Diaz and Tyler Roberts. Valencia's runs came in the fifth, when Carter Bennett singled and scored on Evan Conrad's RBI double and Conrad later came around on an error.

Joey Nuttall did the most damage for Saugus, 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored. A quiet day at the plate and a couple of crooked innings on the mound added up to a lopsided one against the league rival.
