Valencia and Foothill League rival Hart traded haymakers for eight innings and settled for a 10-10 tie when the game reached the time limit, a back-and-forth slugfest with 27 combined hits and neither side able to land the final blow.
After a scoreless start, Hart struck for three in the third, but Valencia answered with four in the bottom half: Justin Gaisford tripled home a run, Cole DeYoung doubled one in, and Carter Bennett's two-run double put the Vikings ahead. Hart tied it in the fourth, and Valencia surged again in the fifth, capped by Zach Davis's three-run double, to lead 8-4.
Then came Hart's sixth. The Hawks batted around for six runs, with Hayden Rhodes's two-run double and Jaiden Chan's two-run single doing the damage around a Valencia error and a pitching change, to take a 10-8 lead. But Valencia would not go quietly: in the seventh, Gaisford singled in a run and DeYoung's sacrifice fly knotted it at 10-10.
Tennysen Enneking came on in the sixth and gave Valencia three innings to hold the tie, working around traffic in the seventh and eighth. The Vikings put the leadoff man on in the bottom of the eighth, but time ran out with the score even. Zach Davis (3-for-4, 3 RBI), Tyler Wertz (3-for-4), and Gaisford (2-for-4, triple, 2 RBI) led a 14-hit attack against a Hart staff that struck out 12.
