Luke Ammerman went 3-for-3 with a single, a double, and a triple, a home run short of the cycle, and Valencia's JV scored in each of the first five innings to beat Simi Valley 7-3 on the road.

The teams traded first-inning runs, Casey Nickson walking, stealing second, and scoring on Ammerman's single before Aiden Fox answered with a solo homer to center. Valencia then pulled away steadily: two second-inning runs helped by two Simi Valley errors, Ammerman's RBI triple in the third, Gavin Tergo's RBI single in the fourth, and Braden Cianci's RBI single in the fifth after Ammerman doubled and stole third. Four Pioneer errors fed four unearned runs.

Brodie Kersting earned the win over 4.1 innings, working around six walks, and helped himself by picking a runner off first ahead of Fox's homer. The bullpen closed with 2.2 scoreless: Tee Intharachalit struck out three and stranded the bases loaded in the sixth, and Ben Winger fanned the last two.

Valencia's defense was errorless with a lined double play, Hayden Jaquez to Braden Cianci, snuffing out the fourth.
