Valencia's JV manufactured ten runs out of just eight hits, stacking three sacrifice flies, three hit batters, four stolen bases, and two bunt singles in a 10-6 six-inning road win at Maranatha.
A three-run second (Miles Shelofsky's bases-loaded bunt single, Casey Nickson's RBI single, Jaedyn Morales's sacrifice fly) was answered in kind, Maranatha tying it with a leadoff triple, an RBI double, a straight steal of home, and an RBI single. Valencia went right back ahead with three in the third on Caden Cabunoc's RBI single, Aiden Illingworth's sacrifice fly, and Shelofsky's run-scoring groundout.
Braden Cianci did a bit of everything: hit by pitch twice, a double, two runs scored, and two scoreless innings to close it out. Cabunoc started with three strikeouts in two innings and went 2-for-2 at the plate. The middle innings wobbled, Maranatha squeezing three runs out of three walks and two hit batters, but the lead never changed hands.
Two Maranatha errors handed Valencia insurance in the sixth. Maranatha's starter went all six innings and threw 125 pitches.
