The Valencia freshmen took their first loss at Chaminade, 14-5, in a game decided far more by the free pass than the base hit: the Eagles scored fourteen runs on only seven hits, drawing ten walks, taking two hit-by-pitches, and capitalizing on four Valencia errors.

Chaminade built a 7-0 lead by the second on two bases-loaded walks, a bases-loaded fielder's choice, and Lucas Hwang's three-run single-and-error play. Valencia punched back with three in the third, singles by Elijah Patlian, Elijah Avlas, and Kasen Caranto around two Chaminade errors and Nate Marroquin's RBI single, and pulled within 7-5 in the fifth on Ryan Kim's RBI double and Marroquin's tag-up run on Caden Shin's line out.

The bottom of the fifth broke it open again: five Chaminade runs on two walks, a two-error bunt sequence, Tristan Moncure's infield single, and Hwang's triple. Hwang finished with four RBI.

Elijah Garcia was the bright spot on the mound, striking out five over 3.1 innings of relief, and the defense turned a 6-4-3 double play. Marroquin had two of Valencia's nine hits and reached three times.
