After a week of low-scoring, hard-luck games, Valencia's offense finally broke loose, hanging an eight-run first inning and rolling to a 12-6 road win at Cleveland on 13 hits.

The first inning was relentless: Justin Gaisford and Carter Bennett delivered RBI hits, Zach Davis ripped a two-run double, Jack Yamamura tripled home a run, JT Gurne singled one in, and a Brady Ruffner sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded fielder's choice rounded out the eight-spot. Valencia kept tacking on, a run in each of the next four innings, to stay comfortably ahead.

Davis was the standout, 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI, two runs, and two steals, and Gaisford matched him with three RBI of his own on a 2-for-3 day. Bennett doubled and reached base three times, and the Vikings ran wild with six stolen bases.

On the mound, Steven Genovese earned the win with four innings to start, sitting in the mid-80s and topping 87, with four strikeouts. Andrew Gomez finished up. Cleveland scratched out three runs in the third and three more in the fifth, but never seriously threatened the early cushion. A get-right game for the offense.
