Valencia carried a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the seventh at El Camino Real and could not close it out, losing 2-1 on a walk-off. It was a hard-luck end to a strong night on the mound for both teams.

Dexton Otton was electric in his start, three innings of one-hit ball with six strikeouts, sitting in the mid-80s and touching 90. El Camino's Jackson Sellz matched him pitch for pitch, going the distance with a four-hit, seven-strikeout complete game. Jordan Ramos kept it scoreless with 2.1 innings of relief in between.

The Vikings scratched out the game's first run in the top of the seventh. Tyler Wertz, who had three of Valencia's four hits, singled, and courtesy runner Kade Breech came around to score on an error during Evan Conrad's sacrifice bunt for a 1-0 lead.

El Camino answered in the bottom half. A leadoff fly out was followed by a single, a walk, and a hit batter to load the bases with one out, and the Royals drew a bases-loaded walk to tie it and a second to win it, ending the game 2-1. A frustrating finish to a well-played, low-scoring game in which Valencia's pitching gave it every chance.
