Kyle Josing's leadoff home run in the top of the seventh broke a 1-1 tie and sent Valencia to a 2-1 road win at Pacifica, the kind of one-run game the Vikings dropped earlier in the week and this time closed out.

The pitching set the tone. Dexton Otton started and was excellent, four innings of one-hit, shutout ball with two strikeouts, sitting in the mid-80s and touching 87. Tennysen Enneking took it from there and earned the win, allowing a single run over three innings even as the defense had a rough day behind him.

Valencia scratched out the first run in the third: Justin Gaisford singled, moved up on Zach Davis's sacrifice bunt, and came home on Ryan Nguyen's RBI double. Pacifica answered in the sixth, when Dario Navarro doubled and scored on JJ Carmona's single to tie it.

Then Josing led off the seventh and ended the suspense with a no-doubt solo shot to left. Enneking worked around a leadoff double in the bottom half to lock down the one-run win.

The Vikings out-hit Pacifica 8-5 with seven different players collecting a hit, and despite leaving runners on, got just enough, and got it from the right spots. A clean response to a tough week.
