Valencia's JV picked up its first win with a 2-0 home shutout of Paraclete, three pitchers combining on a two-hitter with five strikeouts.

Miles Shelofsky started with three scoreless innings, Brodie Kersting followed with two perfect frames and two strikeouts, and Caden Cabunoc closed out the last two, fielding his position twice in the seventh to snuff out a Paraclete threat.

All the offense came in the second. Luke Ammerman singled and Braden Cianci walked ahead of Hayden Jaquez's two-run single to center, and that was enough.

Valencia made three errors at shortstop but none cost a run, and Ammerman finished 2-for-2 to lead the way.
