The Fall 2025 season ended the way most of its games were decided: in one loud inning. For five and a half frames in Thousand Oaks, nobody scored at all; Valencia finished on the wrong end of a 6-0 line and closed its fall at 12-9.

Steven Genovese and Dexton Otton combined for five scoreless innings to start, Otton striking out three with the hardest stuff Valencia showed all fall, radar readings climbing to 90. Tyler Wertz erased Thousand Oaks' first two threats himself, throwing out a base stealer to end the first and picking Tristan Ramos off first in the second.

The Lancers finally manufactured a run in the sixth, bunt single, steal, sacrifice, sac fly, and then broke it open in the seventh: a leadoff home run to left, two more bunt hits, an RBI double, and a two-run single that skipped away for an error. Valencia's bats, held to a bunt single, an infield knock, and Evan Conrad's grounder through the left side, never pushed a runner past second against an eight-strikeout staff.

Zach Davis started a lined double play to end the eighth, a defensive grace note on a quiet afternoon, and the fall was over: twenty-one games, 12 wins, 9 losses, and a winter's worth of at-bats banked before spring.
