Valencia opened its four-game January travel weekend the hard way: trailing Narbonne 5-2 with six outs left at Santiago High School in Corona, then refusing to make the last twelve quietly.

The sixth inning did it. Santino Cascione and Justin Gaisford singled, Zach Davis wore a pitch, and Tyler Wertz, who had already doubled home a run in the fourth, lined a two-run double to left. Evan Conrad walked, Ryan Nguyen's fly ball was dropped in right to tie it, and Jack Yamamura lifted the go-ahead sacrifice fly to center.

The game had opened rough: two first-inning Narbonne runs, with a third erased when Francisco Velazquez Jr. and Yamamura relayed a runner down at the plate. Dexton Otton, in his first captured appearance, took the fall's hardest recorded Valencia velocity into that inning, and Gaisford followed with three scoreless frames of pure larceny: a pickoff, a 1-3-6 caught-stealing, and a batter-interference out. Charles Goodman weathered Narbonne's mid-game push and, when the sixth flipped the game, became the pitcher of record for the win.

The last three outs belonged to Jaedyn Morales, another first-timer, who struck out Narbonne's leadoff man and retired the side in order on eleven pitches. Cascione finished with three runs, Wertz with three RBI, and Valencia with its fifth win in six games.
