Game 2 at JSerra had everything game 1 did, and then some: sixteen Valencia strikeouts, three runners cut down at home plate, four lead changes' worth of momentum, and, finally, a walk-off.

JSerra's flame-throwing starter struck out six of nine Vikings, but Valencia's third inning broke through against the bullpen: seven straight batters reached with one out, four runs scoring on singles from Cole DeYoung, Aiden Illingworth, Tyler Wertz, Ryan Nguyen, and Justin Gaisford plus bases-loaded walks to Kyle Josing and Carter Bennett. Four more in the fourth, capped by Josing's two-run single, made it 8-1.

JSerra answered with four in the fourth and four in the fifth, the last two on an error, to lead 9-8. Valencia countered in the sixth: singles from Illingworth, Wertz, and Nguyen (on a bunt), then Gaisford's ground ball was booted for two unearned runs and a 10-9 lead. Bennett kept it there with his third dropped-third-strike putout assist, part of a day when Valencia's strikeouts kept mounting.

The seventh unraveled with no outs: a walk, an RBI double, a bunt that was misplayed, an intentional walk, and a line-drive single to center that ended it. Nguyen's 3-for-4 and Josing's three RBI on a single official at-bat led the offense in a game Valencia out-hit JSerra 12-10 and lost by one.
