Fall baseball got loud at St. Francis. The two teams combined for twenty-four runs, twenty-eight hits, and fifteen pitchers, nine of them for the home team, in a nine-inning game Valencia led in the middle and lost late, 15-9.

Down 4-0 after a big second inning, Valencia answered with a five-run third powered almost entirely by the strike zone: six walks, two of them with the bases loaded, around run-scoring singles by Santino Cascione and Zach Davis. Charlie Romanelli's double and Ryan Nguyen's double made it 6-4 in the fourth.

St. Francis kept coming. Back-to-back doubles tied it in the fourth, an RBI single by the home team's four-hit star put them ahead for good in the sixth, and a six-run seventh, built on two bunt singles, an error, and another two-run double, broke it open. Valencia's eighth flickered: four consecutive singles from Ripken Ely, Rufio Simo, JT Gurne, and Steven Genovese, plus a run forced in when Francisco Velazquez Jr. was interfered with at the plate with the bases loaded.

The day's auditions still produced keepers. Tennysen Enneking opened with a scoreless first, Charles Goodman struck out the side in the eighth, and Tyler Wertz took the mound for the first time and ended the game with a strikeout. Davis's 3-for-3 and Nguyen's 2-for-2 led thirteen Valencia hits.
